The process involved in getting dental bonding is quick and effective and is typically done for only one appointment.
To begin, the surface of the tooth that is to be manipulated during this procedure is buffed just slightly to allow room for the dental bonding not to affect the bite of your teeth or to protrude out following the procedure. You and the dentist will then pick the perfect color that matches the surrounding teeth. The composite resin is then applied directly to the tooth by using a cement bond and is cured using a specialized UV light. Any further shaping or buffing that needs to be done is then performed, finalizing the dental bonding process.
While dental bonding may not last forever, the use of the composite resin on the teeth does give you a durable and long-lasting fix. Depending on each patient, and their lifestyle habits, this can give you and us in the office a better idea of how long your dental bonding may last.
